Who we are
Ventra (Ventra) provides UK grant and funding matching services. For privacy enquiries, contact support@ventra.co.uk.
Information you provide
When you use Ventra, you may submit business information including:
- Company name, industry, and description
- Business postcode or region
- Employee count, company age, turnover, and business stage
- Funding goal and related application details in Application Prep Pack
This information is used to generate grant matches and, if you use Application Prep Pack, tailored application preparation guidance. We use it only to provide the service — not to sell your data to third parties.
How we use your information
- Matching — to rank funding schemes against your profile using published eligibility criteria.
- Application Prep Pack — to assess readiness and prepare tailored application guidance when you request it.
- Service improvement — aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns may inform product improvements.
Analytics
We record anonymised usage events in your browser's local storage to understand how the product is used — for example, when profiles are submitted, matches are generated, or checkout is started. These events do not include your full company description and are not shared with advertising networks.
You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for Ventra.
Payment processing
If you purchase Application Prep Pack, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe handles payment data in accordance with its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS requirements. We receive confirmation of payment and basic transaction metadata (such as grant identifier) to unlock your guidance.
Local storage and sessions
To restore your results and Application Prep Pack session across page visits (for example, after returning from Stripe checkout), we temporarily store profile and guidance data in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device unless you clear it.
Third-party services
We use trusted third-party providers to operate the service, including:
- Stripe — payment processing for Application Prep Pack purchases.
- Hosting and infrastructure — to run the application and API.
- AI services — to power profile autofill and Application Prep Pack guidance generation, where configured.
These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service and under appropriate contractual safeguards.
Data retention
Business information submitted through forms is processed to deliver immediate results and is not retained in a persistent user account unless stored locally in your browser. Analytics events are capped and stored locally. Payment records are retained by Stripe according to their policies and for our legitimate business records as required by law.
Your rights (UK)
Under UK data protection law, you have rights including access, correction, erasure, restriction, and objection to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@ventra.co.uk. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
